Most brides and grooms don't think about lighting. This tip is important to capture great wedding reception photos. We use digital cameras and so do most wedding photographers these days. These cameras produce stunning images but fail in handling skin tones lit by colored lighting. The worst colors are orange, red, and purple…which are also the most chosen colors for reception lighting.
Talk to your coordinator or lighting person and make sure that during the first dance, parent dances, and toasts there will be no colored lights on the subjects. Even during your guest dancing shots, it’s rough but it’s tolerable since it is supposed to have a club-like atmosphere anyway. Don’t ruin important moments like the first dance and speeches.
